GreenMind Hackathon 2025 – Successfully Concluded

Organized by Green Computing Foundation (GCF) in collaboration with Bangalore BioInnovation Centre (BBC), Software Technology Park of India (STPI), Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM)

The GreenMind Sustainable AI Hackathon, a pre-event to the India AI Summit 2026 organized by Government of India concluded successfully as a national platform bringing together students, start-ups, corporates, policymakers, and sustainability leaders to co-create climate-conscious, low-impact AI solutions aligned with India’s sustainability and digital transformation goals.

Outcomes & Impact

GreenMind Hackathon 2025 successfully demonstrated how Sustainable AI can address real-world challenges while significantly reducing environmental and infrastructure impact. The hackathon catalyzed innovation across critical sectors including governance, healthcare, agriculture, urban mobility, waste management, and built environments, with a strong emphasis on energy-efficient, low-carbon AI systems.

Participants developed deployable solutions using lightweight models, CPU-based inference, edge computing, and renewable-powered systems, proving that high-impact AI does not require high energy consumption. The solutions showcased measurable benefits such as reduced emissions, optimized resource usage, lower operational costs, and improved accessibility, particularly in resource-constrained environments.

Through mentorship, industry collaboration, and rigorous evaluation, the hackathon created a pipeline of incubation-ready Sustainable AI innovations, strengthened cross-sector collaboration, and reinforced India’s leadership in Responsible, Secure, and Climate-Conscious AI development.
